What a day to remember!
Team FAST UK took on the Tough Mudder Yorkshire 15K, facing some of the toughest conditions imaginable. Battling cold temperatures, strong winds and relentless rain, the team tackled every obstacle with determination, resilience and an unwavering sense of purpose.
But what stood out most wasn’t the weather or the mud, it was the incredible teamwork.
From the very first obstacle to the finish line, every member of the team supported one another. They offered helping hands over walls, encouragement through the toughest moments and plenty of laughter along the way. Nobody was left behind. It was a true demonstration of what can be achieved when people come together for a cause they believe in.
A special mention goes to Nicola, who completed the challenge alongside her two sisters in honour of her daughter, Louannah, who has Angelman syndrome. Their determination, resilience and grit were inspiring to witness, and they perfectly captured the strength and love that so many families in our community show every day.
The rest of the team were equally incredible. Throughout the course they encouraged one another, celebrated every achievement and made sure everyone crossed the finish line together. Their support for each other embodied the spirit of Team FAST UK.
Together, the team has already raised an incredible £4,339 to support vital Angelman syndrome research. Every pound raised brings us closer to advancing research, developing effective treatments and, ultimately, finding a cure.
We are enormously grateful to every participant, every donor, every volunteer and everyone who cheered the team on throughout the challenge. Your support is helping to drive meaningful progress for the Angelman syndrome community.
To everyone who pulled on a FAST UK t-shirt, stepped into the mud and took on this incredible challenge, thank you. You have not only raised vital funds, but also helped raise awareness of Angelman syndrome, inspired others and shown the power of a community united by hope.
This may have been the finish line for Tough Mudder Yorkshire 2026, but together we continue our journey towards a future where every individual with Angelman syndrome has access to effective treatments and the opportunity to live their fullest life.
