Paul Aitken has completed the Sydney Marathon, raising an incredible £3,805 for FAST UK!
After securing his place through the general ballot, Paul chose to dedicate his seventh major marathon challenge to raising funds and awareness for Angelman syndrome.
Despite a brutal course filled with plenty of hills, Paul crossed the Sydney Harbour Bridge before reaching an unforgettable finish at the iconic Sydney Opera House.
Paul was inspired by his close friends Lisa and Rich and their daughter Nancy-Freja, who lives with Angelman syndrome. Having seen some of the challenges Angelman syndrome can bring, Paul wanted his latest marathon to help support FAST UK’s work and bring greater awareness to the condition.
Lisa and Rich shared:

Paul initially set himself a fundraising target of £2,000, but the support he received saw him completely smash that goal, raising an amazing £3,805.
The funds raised will support FAST UK’s work to accelerate research into effective treatments for Angelman syndrome, support clinical trial readiness in the UK and bring potential therapies closer to families.
