As part of International Carers Week (w/c 9 June), we’re honoured to share a powerful and heartfelt article by Sarah Washbrook, a dedicated parent carer and long-time supporter of FAST UK.
In “Life of a Parent Carer: A Spotlight on Angelman Syndrome,” Sarah reflects on her journey caring for her son Ivor, who lives with Angelman syndrome. Through honest insight, she sheds light on the challenges, joys and day-to-day realities that many parent carers face, bringing a vital voice to the centre of this important week.
Originally written for her workplace, international law firm Addleshaw Goddard, Sarah has kindly allowed us to share her words here to raise awareness and understanding across the wider Angelman community.
We’re so grateful to Sarah for her openness, advocacy and continued support of FAST UK.
